Chukar Partridge

The Chukar Partridge is a plump, chicken-like gamebird with a distinctive black band across its forehead and down its flanks. Its call is a loud, rhythmic "chuk-chuk-chukar" that can be heard across its rocky, arid habitats. They often forage in small coveys, scratching at the ground for food.
